Updated! NASA Funding Call A.13 Accelerating Earth Solutions – proposals due October 15th

Corrections and Clarifications!

A.13 Accelerating Earth Solutions (AES) seeks to accelerate the use of Earth-observing satellite measurements in decision-making.

Proposals are sought in three general areas:

• • Needs and Opportunities: Identifying critical issues and potential solutions;
  • Solutions Development: Developing solutions for deployment; and
  • Scaling Impact: Scaling the reach and utilization of existing solutions.

On or about July 28, 2026, A.13 AES has been corrected and clarified in a few ways: A set of slides describing the Application Readiness Levels (ARLs) has been posted under “other documents” on the NSPIRES page for this program element, text regarding ARLs has been added to a few locations in Section 2 of the text, and a row has been added to the Summary Table of Key information in Section 4. New Text is in bold and deleted text is struck through. We anticipate posting a FAQ under “other documents” after the pre-proposal teleconference on August 31, at 1 pm Eastern Time.

Market Discovery proposals are limited to one (1) year in duration. Solutions Accelerator proposals may span up to three (3) years, and the Force Multiplier proposals may span across two (2) years. Proposals that are eligible to go beyond the first year will undergo a mandatory review of progress and impact to determine continued funding.

Priority will be given to:

• • Topics aligned with United States resilience, resources, economic growth, health, and security;
  • Increasing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML);
  • Crossing boundaries across Earth Action thematic areas (see Section 2);
  • Transforming recent advancements in basic research or satellite remote sensing into solutions that address societal challenges;
  • Solutions based on data from any of NASA’s Earth observing missions, especially NISAR, PACE, and SWOT; and
  • Combined approaches using NASA’s and other publicly available satellite data with commercial satellite data available under the NASA CSDA program.

Proposed topics must address pressing national challenges and may fall under, but are not limited to, any of the current thematic areas of NASA’s Earth Action program of agriculture, disasters, natural resources, health and air quality, water, wildland fire, energy, and infrastructure.

ROSES-2025 Amendment 62 releases A.13 AES as a new opportunity in ROSES-25. Proposals are due October 15, 2026. A pre-proposal teleconference will be held on approximately 6 weeks after the release of the program element on a no-advance-reservation, first-to-dial-in basis.
