NASA-led VSWIR Community Webinar series starting June 24th!

NASA’s Earth Surface Mineral Dust Source Investigation (EMIT) and the upcoming Eagle (Explorer for Artemis Geology Lunar and Earth, formerly known as the SBG or Surface Biology and Geology) missions rely on VSWIR to map global mineral compositions, monitor vegetation health, and track aquatic ecosystems from space. It is also widely used in planetary geology to detect water and mineral compositions on bodies like the Moon and Mars.

A monthly VSWIR (Visible to Short-Wavelength Infrared) Community webinar series is kicking off on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 8am Pacific Daylight Time (-7 UTC). The first meeting will include an update on ongoing activities from the imaging spectroscopy group at JPL.
