USA Opportunity – Coastal Zone Foundation sets water quality course
This will be an introductory course offering a review of the US 1972 Clean Water Act, along with discussions of surface water quality standards and compliance applicable to the Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific coastal zones. Course materials will include management tools, primary contributors to water quality degradation, Best Management Practices (BMPs) for treatment, monitoring strategies, bio-indicators, local and state-level efforts for Coastal Zone Act compliance. Regional case studies and/or challenges and solutions will be included.

The course is offered as part of the foundation’s Certified Coastal Practitioner™ (CCP) professional credential, a broad knowledge base and understanding of the interrelationships that exist among different coastal professions.
