Description
The position coordinates, develops, and delivers programs associated with the Great Lakes Water Studies Institute (GLWSI) including Marine Technology, Water Quality and Environmental Technology, Marine Center, and research & outreach. The position will oversee equipment, training, laboratory functions, and standard operating procedures, and support the services that enhance GLWSI’s mission and vision.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional and academic experience in the applied use of marine technology or environmental technology systems or sensors.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field including marine/water-related sciences and geospatial technologies or related field.
- Completion of coursework or professional experience related to the operation, calibration, and deployment of water/marine technology equipment.
Preferred:
- More than 2 years of professional and academic experience in the applied use of marine technology or environmental technology systems or sensors.
- Basic knowledge of software associated with water quality and marine data collection including GIS.
- Basic understanding of field operations including installation, calibration, and data collection using water quality and environmental sensors, sonar platforms, or other marine technology equipment.
- Field expertise in the study of water or marine-related subjects.
- Master’s degree in a related field including marine/water-related sciences and geospatial technologies or related field.
